The opening of the new Osceola Medical Center marks a turning point in healthcare for the area. From its vision, to the facility and even the property itself, the medical center is taking its 75-year history and positioning itself to better meet the needs of the community and accommodate the evolution of healthcare.
The Vision
For years, population growth, service growth and healthcare trends have been pointing toward a new facility. After studying projections, healthcare trends and current facilities, the OMC Board of Directors came up with a vision: to create a healthcare campus that will provide for fitness, health and quality living. The board envisioned trails, facilities and open space coming together to make this campus a gathering place for our community.
Once it found land – a 134-acre site south of Osceola – OMC set aside 10 of those acres for the local River Valley Soccer Club to install soccer fields for area kids. The fitness part of the vision was on its way.
