Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy assists a person in restoring motion, relieving pain, strengthening and retraining muscles, preventing the onset and progression of functional limitations, and promoting healthy living through exercise. Physical therapists practice in a broad range of inpatient, outpatient and community based settings including hospitals, schools, industrial and occupational environments, and athletics. With an emphasis on education, treatment may include therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, massage, relaxation techniques, body mechanics and ergonomics training. Adaptive equipment and modalities (heat, cold, electrical stimulation, ultra-sound, whirlpool) are frequently used.
